Change to non-production environments
On 1 February 2022, an important change occurred to the GovCMS platform regarding non-production environments. GovCMS are continually improving platform security and have segregated production and non-production environments.
Please note: this change is not related to the GovCMS distribution version.
The master production environments are not affected by this change. Only the master branches will remain on govcms5 (SaaS production cluster) & govcms6 (PaaS production cluster).
Newly created non-production environments (dev, test et al.) will be created with govcms7 in the address to represent it being built on the shared non-production cluster. Customers should always refer to the links on the dashboard to confirm the URLs.
Existing non-production environments will not be impacted. The URLs will not change, unless you delete, and recreate the environment. GovCMS will be working with agencies over the next couple of months to finalise the separation of environments across the platform.
We are encouraging customers to start moving themselves over to the new cluster. If you aren’t merging your changes into master, you will need to delete the current feature environment in govcms5 and recreate it in govcms7.
If you are actively developing in a non-production environment, and require its database to be preserved, please raise a Service Desk ticket to discuss a special arrangement for your non-production environment.
And lastly, check for your new non-production URLs, via your dashboard and update any bookmarks once the non-production environments have been changed/updated.
If you have any concerns, please raise a Service Desk ticket and subscribe to GovCMS status page updates to stay informed.
