Drupal 9 July Update

Monday 12 July 2021

The Drupal 9 (D9) team here at GovCMS is now focused on helping our SaaS Drupal 8 (D8) agencies transition to D9. So far 55 websites have successfully made the transition with minimal complications… Here’s what one agency had to say:

“We had developers on standby too but were pleased they were not required. We expected there might be some theme issues or minor weirdnesses but had none. I imagine it depends on your theme and modules but our straight-forward site had a straight-forward upgrade.”

If you haven’t already done so, give yourself some peace of mind, and book your upgrade in now. Please don't leave it to the last minute!

Thank you to everyone who has already booked in.

D8 will reach end of life on 2 November 2021. However, we need to have all GovCMS D8 websites upgraded by the end of August 2021. There are a number priorities coming up for GovCMS, so we need to have all the D8 to D9 upgrades completed before that work kicks off.

We’re also excited to announce the next feature we plan to add to the distribution. Module Permissions. This will give agencies the ability to manage their projects modules. We are aiming for the next release.
