Important End-of-Year Actions
As we start to square-away 2024, now is the time for a spring clean and tidy-up on your GovCMS project, or projects.
There’s lots of moving parts with GovCMS and we rely on you to let us know about changes within your organisation. This includes changes to who should and shouldn’t have access to your project or the GovCMS service desk, and updates to contact details. See the year out strong, follow our end of year tidy-up recommendations below:
Up-to-date Primary Contacts
Make sure your primary contact details are up to date for each project. Ensure the right people receive our communications on all things tech, status updates, security, news and events. Maybe you are taking time off or planning extended leave? Let us know so your teams can continue to stay informed.
Assess your GovCMS SaaS Permission Restrictions
To ensure compliance with our OFFICIAL: Sensitive security accreditation, certain security-related permissions can’t be granted to users on GovCMS SaaS websites. The use of these disallowed permissions will cause GitLab build failures. If this occurs, these permissions must be removed before changes can be pushed to your GitLab code repository.
Clean up Your Access Permissions
If your team has had staff turnover (and who hasn’t), it’s important to review access permissions. This includes access to your project dashboard, Service Desk account.
Submit a Service Desk ticket to add, update or delete people who no longer need access. With one ticket, the Service Desk and GovCMS will update the relevant GitLab and Service Desk accounts as well as any relevant contact lists. This keeps your website and information secure.
Update Your Contact Details
Whether your primary contact person changes, or just their email address, it’s important to let us know. We may attempt to contact you regarding changes to your website, the underlying infrastructure, or other updates or changes to your service.
Make sure that we know who to contact regarding the specifics of your website. This includes invoicing, distribution changes, security, Domain Name Server (DNS), your Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and any group mailboxes you might use.
You can update your primary contact, and any other contacts by raising a Service Desk ticket. With one ticket, the Service Desk and GovCMS will update the relevant GitLab and Service Desk accounts as well as any relevant contact lists. It’s quick, easy, and keeps it all in one place.
Check Any of Your Open Tickets on the GovCMS Service Desk
Do you have any open tickets or tickets that you haven't responded to in recent times? Use this chance to close out anything that doesn’t need any more attention or has been resolved.
You should log in and check any tickets you have in your name that are still open. If relevant, please also provide feedback on tickets that have been resolved so we can continue to improve our offering.
