Drupal 9 August update
Drupal 9 is here and we’re working towards making the GovCMS Drupal 9 distribution available late this year to early next year.
The timeline we're working towards is dependent on module maintainers getting their code ready for Drupal 9. We're currently assessing our overall roadmap to see where the gaps are. If you'd like access to an early pre-release version of the Drupal 9 distribution to help with testing, get in touch.
You need to start planning now to ensure you have the budget and resources available to move your website to Drupal 9.
For Drupal 7 SaaS customers, this migration requires a full rebuild. Last month we called agencies with Drupal 7 SaaS websites to make sure they had a plan in place. This was also an opportunity to offer information on the options available and answer questions.
If you are a Drupal 7 SaaS customer and you would like a follow up call, or you would like us to speak with someone else in your organisation let us know. We can schedule a time to call you if you email govcms@finance.gov.au.
If you are a Drupal 8 SaaS customer the process of moving to Drupal 9 should be relatively easy. We will be contacting you soon to hear about your plans.
PaaS customers can use Drupal 9 now. If you want to use the GovCMS distribution on Drupal 9 you will need to wait until we release it.
We’re always keen to hear from you. If you have questions about the move to Drupal 9 or you have suggestions for how we can better support you, email govcms@finance.gov.au.
